Have you ever tried bowel cleansing? What difference did you experience?

Is it safe? What could be the side effects or consequences if there are any?Have you ever tried bowel cleansing? What difference did you experience?
When you do these cleansings you also flush out the good bacteria so I think they're not as good as people say. I would do some more research on it.Have you ever tried bowel cleansing? What difference did you experience?
I have used an all natural nutritional cleansing, replenishing, rejuvenating system and I love it. This is a full body cleanse. I have lost 20 lbs and gone from a size 18-10.

I think we need to differentiate (for the lugheads) between a detoxifying bowel cleanse (supplements that ';clean you out';) and bowel irrigation or enema.

Both are relevant and are used medicinally.

There are many products around that will help you clean out your intenstines (stomach, duodenum, ileum [small intestine] and colon [large intestine]). Most are magnesium oxide based, and simply increase the water content of your faeces, making it easier to expel and therefore performing the ';cleanse';. See ';Oxy-powder'; at link below

Most people ewould benefit from such treatments on an occasional basis, and increased energy (due to better absorption of foods) is just one benefit.

As mentioned by a previous respondent, you do run a slight risk of ';throwing out the baby with the bathwater'; by getting rid ot your good bacteria at the same time, so a supplement of lactobacillus acidophilus or other ';friendly'; bacteria afterwards will help the digestive process (just NOT those awful modern ';yoghurt'; drinks, please!)

By comparison, irrigation, or enema, uses (usually) water under slight pressure to dissolve any impacted (stuck) material, enabling it to be removed. This needs to be performed by a relevantly qualified professional in clinical conditions to ensure maximum safety.

Simply put, a bowel cleanse once in a while is beneficial for most people and, not normally harmful in any way.
I drank a tbsp of liquid chlorophyll in 8 oz of water 3 times a day. i started have these huge bowel movements 4-5 times a day for about a month, and they were very solid and so much was coming out. i hadnt made any changes whatsoever to my diet. i was amazed that it was all coming out of lil old me. after the first month my bowel movements leveled out to a normal size just once in the mornin and once at night but i remember that i didnt have to sit and wait, they only took about 2-3 minutes. they were never runny or soft always solid. after the first month i lost my love handles and my waist curved in more on the side, also my stomach was much flatter than it had ever been, even flatter than in high school, no more white on my tongue in the morning, no more morning breath
i've used a colon cleanser which is the same thing. a lot of dieases start in the colon plus what i use is also used as a cancer prevenative, used on skin cancers and other types of cancer. if you take too much, it can make you sick but it healed my son of cancer.
What is it with you and the whole ';bowel'; thing??? You got ';issues'; you wanna talk to a shrink about???
ive been wanting to do this lately. I hear that people experience a little weight loss and more energy.

GNC has many colon cleanse formulas that are supposed to do that.
DO NOT STICK ANYTHING IN YOUR BUTT, let me repeat my sdlf, do not stick anything in your butt!! Eat lots of fiber, and drink lots of water! you could perforate your bowel !!!
